On July 27, 2022, the Mayor’s Charity Fund was established. The revenues in the Mayor’s Charity Fund are generated solely from fundraising activities. Throughout the year, the Mayor and the City of Basehor may hold fundraisers whose proceeds will benefit local charities. The primary fundraising activity for the Mayor’s Charity Fund is the Mayor’s Annual Golf Tournament.
The purpose of the fund is to create a separate fund to promote transparency and accountability for funds received, spent, and donated.
Throughout the year, the Mayor may open calls for funding whereby local charities can submit applications to the Mayor in pursuit of funding.
Charities are encouraged to apply for the Mayor's Charity Fund in October of each calendar year, following the completion of the Mayor's Annual Golf Tournament.
