The City of Basehor has teamed up with Leavenworth County to host a Hazardous Waste cleanup event in Basehor, on Saturday, June 10, 2023, at the Municipal Services Department located at 2300 N. 158th Street. This event will take place adjacent to the existing Basehor community brush disposal site. This event will be from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm or until the trailer is full. There will be a 20-item limit per resident in order to allow everyone the opportunity to utilize this event. If you have more than 20 items you can call the Leavenworth County Transfer Station at 913-727-2858 to set up an appointment to bring your Household Hazardous Waste to them.

All items must have a factory or some sort of labeling on the containers to identify contents, cannot leak, and must have a lid/container cap. All items must be in containers 5-gallon size or smaller. No past or present business waste is accepted. Contact the Leavenworth County Transfer Station for a business waste drop application and appointment. A large trash dumpster will be on site for the disposal of cans that are empty or solid hard, but containers will still be required to have a lid or cap.
