The City has established a street clearing priority system based on traffic volume, topography and facilities serviced. The Public Works Department strives to have all streets plowed within 24 hours of a snow event. Residents can help in this process by not parking on the streets when snowfall of two or more inches is expected. Also, please remember it is the responsibility of property owner to clear sidewalks.
Residents should also be aware that snow should not be pushed into City Streets. For details, contact City Superintendent, at 913-724-2000 and reference Ordinance No. 569 for a list of the streets that are emergency snow routes.
