City Park                                                             

The Basehor City Park is located in the northewest corner of our city on Leavenworth Road approximately a mile west of 155th Street. The park has a gazebo, shelter, and pavilion to use as well as a great children's playgroun area. There is also plenty of open space for families to have a picnic, play catch or volleyball, and have the kids run around. To reserve the park for any occasion please contact Kathy at 913-724-1370 ext. 21.

The Basehor City Park was established through the joint effort of the Basehor Park Association and the city of Basehor.  The Park Association continues to raise funds for improving the park through donations of aluminum cans for recycling.  The Park Advisory Board Members include: Majorie Barlow, Cindy Bartko, Debbie Bonee, Judy Goens, and Mary Ohler.

Reservations

The shelter and gazebos may be reserved at no charge by stopping in City Hall to fill out a reservation form.

Recycling

The Community is encouraged to participate in the Recycling Program.

When: The first Saturday of every month
Hours: From 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
Where: Basehor City Park                  

Each month a different Basehor organization or group will help you unload the recycled items you bring. Chuck Wilderson of the Gold Pride Organization coordinates different volunteer groups.

What can be recycled:

Recycling Guidelines:

• Please rinse all containers
• Labels do not have to be removed
• No colored glass
• Please remove any metal or plastic ring around the neck of the glass bottle

Tree Disposal

In the event of a storm, tree branches may be discarded at the back end of the Park. Please do not dump dirt or rocks.
